“It's amazing! The kitchen looks better in white than the previous cherry color it gives a fresh touch and without buying new cabinets.”

Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchen Remodeling
The kitchen is where daily life happens. It needs to handle cooking, family, storage, traffic, appliances, lighting, and the occasional “everyone is standing in the same three square feet for no reason” moment. JGR Construction is a local kitchen contractor and remodel company — licensed, based in Morgan Hill, and built around in-house crews rather than a rotating list of subs.
Our kitchen remodeling services cover layout, cabinetry, lighting, ventilation, and the permits that go with them. Many projects stand alone; others sit inside a broader home remodeling plan when you are ready to tackle more than one room. Either way, you work directly with the team doing the work.
In the South Valley — Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Martin, and Coyote — we often open up older suburban floor plans and tie the kitchen back to the dining and family room. Better daylight, updated wiring, and storage that fits how the household actually cooks are usually part of the conversation.
Toward the foothills, in Los Gatos, Saratoga, and Monte Sereno, kitchens tend to be larger. The focus shifts to proportion: islands that fit the room, walk-in pantries, sculleries, and indoor-outdoor flow when the property allows it.
In Campbell, Cupertino, and San Jose we see a mix of established ranch homes and updated layouts where families want smarter workflow without changing the footprint — pull-out storage, layered lighting, induction-ready circuits, and ventilation that keeps up with daily use.
- Islands, stone countertops & custom cabinetry
- Recessed, pendant & under-cabinet lighting
- Dedicated appliance circuits & induction readiness
- Efficient ventilation & open-concept layout
- Storage, workflow & multi-generational traffic flow
- Permits, inspections & full project management

Natural Light & Modern Living
Island, stone countertops, recessed lighting, and daylight from every angle.
At JGR Construction, we like to build with something bigger in mind. These three views show the same finished kitchen — walnut cabinetry, a quartz island, brass pendant lighting, and vaulted skylights — opening to a patio that looks out over a real South Bay neighborhood, not a blank hillside.
From the patio you see how the bifold doors erase the line between inside and out. From the island, the layout and daylight are obvious. From the living room, the kitchen, sofa, and outdoor lounge read as one connected space — the kind of indoor-outdoor flow homeowners in Morgan Hill, Los Gatos, Campbell, and nearby communities ask for.
That is the planning we bring to every project — not just cabinets and counters, but how the room lives with the property and the view around it.

Behind the Finish
A great kitchen is hundreds of small decisions working together.

Finish work is only part of the job. As a kitchen renovation contractor, we plan electrical layers, ventilation, appliance efficiency, and workflow before cabinets go in — so the space still works after install day, not just in the photos. That is what separates kitchen remodeling that holds up from a refresh that looks good for a season.
What Our Clients Say
100% verified reviews from our actual clients on Houzz, Yelp, and Google Business — every word is theirs, not ours.
“I had JGR Construction and his crew paint my kitchen, they did an amazing job! The work definitely gave my kitchen an upgrade — looks like brand new! Completely satisfied with the outcome and it was a pleasure making business with them. I have posted some before and after pics.”
“We renovated our kitchen through Jorge and we are beyond pleased with the entire process. They took care of every minute detail. The new countertops, backsplash, new flooring, new electrical outlets and re-finished cabinetry… Jorge's attention to detail and design decisions were noteworthy. What I really liked was Jorge's willingness to be there for me at any moment, day or night. Made the stressful project a smooth move knowing that you could easily reach him and his team along the way. Communication from him matters very much, ultimately in any project. They were here early morning and stayed almost every day until late evening to finish the project. The best part was, they would consult us and inform us at any point if there was any deviation from the agreed proposal. The team was very respectful, polite and discreet during the construction. JGR Construction is a well-organized team and we'd recommend it 100%. They were that good.”
“We interviewed four contractors we found on Yelp to remodel my house. All of the reviews for JGR Construction were great, but we had no idea that Jorge would become our hero. He has such a great personality and is a very intelligent person with integrity. We had plans from an architect but Jorge suggested changes that improved the project immensely. He was always patient with us and always had an idea to deal with the bumps that arose with a 62 year old house. We truly can't thank him enough. Our project turned into a total house renovation with two small additions. Jorge changed the plans to remove little walls and further open up the space and he put the heater in the attic and turned the space into a large pantry for the new kitchen. He improved the ceiling in the kitchen and the sunroom that raised the ceiling. He added an eave on the house where a previous addition was done incorrectly. He handcrafted a beautiful mantel and added a gas fireplace among the many other improvements including new bathrooms, tankless water heater, roof and so much more. His team was fun to work with and we enjoyed them very much. They were dedicated to doing a good job and making us happy.”
“We updated our existing tile countertop & backsplash with granite using Jorge's excellent team! We also updated our gas range, kitchen sink and faucets. Jorge was very proactive to provide helpful suggestions while planning the project. He made us very comfortable with his demeanor and after interviewing about 5 contractors, it was an easy selection to go with Jorge. His team was very professional throughout the work and welcomed any questions or inputs I had during the project. While discussing the placement of granite slabs, they went out of their way to help me make my decision and be 100% satisfied. Work was thorough and the end result was great. After the job was done, there was a minor plumbing issue but Jorge immediately sent his team out to fix it. Also, after a few days of use, we noticed one granite slab was cracked but Jorge's team replaced the slab without charging me for any extra labor cost.”
“I called JGR Construction because of all the good ratings they had, and felt they must be doing great things. I was very pleased when Jorge came over to see us to discuss possibilities. He was very nice and easy to talk too. He checked out my kitchen because I wanted the whole kitchen remodeled and he even gave me some ideas. All his crew — Edward, Bernardo, Valintine, Frank, and Tony the granite cutter — were excellent workers and very nice and considerate. I wanted my kitchen done in May and they were able to plan everything. I love my kitchen and the porcelain tile floors look amazing like real hardwood. They also remodeled my Wet Bar. Wow it's beautiful. Thanks so much guys. Sandi and Terry”
